    8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Injection Hours

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
   8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday
   8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

** For your convenience, we do give injections during the lunch period.

Appointment Policies

We see patients by appointment. Occasionally, however, the doctor may be called upon for an emergency, or a patient may require more than the allotted appointment time, making subsequent appointments late. Please be understanding if you ever must wait - it may be your turn next to need a little more than the usual time.

Please schedule all routine visits in advance. We will do our best to schedule your appointment in a timely manner, but during our busy seasons, we appreciate your giving us as much advance notice as possible.

If you are not able to keep a scheduled appointment, please notify our office as soon as possible. This courtesy makes it possible for us to give the appointment time to someone else.

PLEASE DO NOT "DROP IN"! When this occurs, the patients who have scheduled appointments are made to wait unnecessarily.

Please do not ask that other family members be seen along with the scheduled patient unless this has been arranged prior to the visit. This would not be fair to the patients with appointments following yours.

Emergency Care

Please contact us at (903) 757-3808 BEFORE leaving for the office or hospital. This number is answered 24 hours a day. The answering service will be able to contact the doctor, or refer you to the emergency room if necessary.

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, go immediately to the emergency room - the hospital personnel will contact the doctor.

Conferences

You may request, or the doctor may suggest, a conference to discuss a particular problem which cannot be handled during a routine office visit. The fee will be based upon the amount of time spent in counsel and the degree of expertise required.

Telephone Calls

Call (903) 757-3808 for anything that concerns you regarding your asthma/allergy care, medications, etc. If the problem is not asthma/allergy related, you may be referred to your regular physician.

Messages will be taken by the receptionist. Your call will be returned as soon as possible, usually during the lunch hour or after office hours.

When you call, please give the receptionist the following information:

  • Patient name
  • Problem or complaint of the patient
  • Duration of illness and temperature of the patient
  • All medications and remedies tried by the patient
  • Any known drug allergies of the patient
  • A telephone number at which you may be reached (please indicate whether the number is home or work)

Please remember - the receptionist is not able to make medical decisions, and illnesses cannot be diagnosed over the telephone.

Prescriptions and Renewals:

All requests for prescriptions and renewals of prescriptions should be done during normal office hours. Please give the receptionist the name of the medication you would like renewed and the name of your pharmacy. Renewals will be called to the pharmacy upon authorization of the physician.

Billing Statements:

We make every effort to hold down the costs of medical care. Therefore, we request payment at the time of service unless PRIOR arrangements have been approved by the Office Manager. For your convenience, we accept Visa, Mastercard, checks and cash.

At the end of your visit, you will be given a computer print-out which contains all the required information allowing you to file for reimbursement from your insurance company. If you have the need for more than one copy of the print-out, please let us know.

Our Office Manager will be happy to discuss any problems or concerns you may have regarding our fees and/or billing.

Managed Care Patients:

You are required to pay only your co-pay or percentage, depending upon your company's policy. You will receive a monthly statement showing any unpaid balances. This is for your information only, and you need not pay any amount for which you are not responsible.

Health Insurance:

We do not file your insurance except in those cases listed below. Please remember that your insurance is a method of reimbursing you for fees paid to the physician, and is not a substitute for payment. Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your carrier. You are responsible for payment for services rendered regardless of whether your insurance pays or does not pay.

Exceptions:

HOSPITAL CHARGES: We will be happy to file your hospital insurance for charges incurred while in the hospital under the physician's care. Please assure that we have correct, current insurance information. The patient will be responsible for any amount not covered by insurance.

MEDICARE: We file all Medicare insurance for our patients. We do not accept assignment, therefore the patient is responsible for paying at the time of service. Medicare will reimburse the patient.

MEDICAID: We are not accepting any new Medicaid patients at this time. We do file Medicaid insurance for our current Medicaid patients. It is required that you bring in your current Medicaid voucher each time you visit the physician.

MANAGED CARE PLANS: We will file insurance for any patient belonging to a managed care plan in which the physician has contracted to be a preferred provider.
